Putting employee health first has always been central for Baker McKenzie. By using OneLab's proactive health services, they can quickly and easily keep track of and improve the company's wellbeing.

Working proactively to improve employee health is nothing new for law firm Baker McKenzie — it is something the company has worked on for a long time. But when they reviewed how they could take their health checks to the next level, they chose OneLab, where it was primarily the convenience of their services that appealed. In autumn 2019 they carried out their first health screening, and the results revealed a challenge that many law firms struggle with: stress.

– The majority of our health issues have been stress-related. The measures we have taken to counter this include encouraging physical activity as well as reviewing workload and work distribution. However, the pandemic last spring made it harder for us to work on employee wellbeing. It created more sources of worry and more questions arose, says Caroline Falconer, HR at Baker McKenzie in Sweden.

Smooth and simple with OneLab
Caroline Falconer emphasises that the company is doing well as an organisation, but that it is at the individual level where OneLab's help has been needed to support and strengthen staff. To make everyday work easier, Baker McKenzie has therefore used OneLab's simple and smart health screenings — a smooth way to work with corporate health, argues Caroline Falconer:

– We are very happy with OneLab's services. The help we have received has been important and above all convenient, as even a large office can get help. It has been quick to get the results, which has given us a good overview of employee wellbeing.

High participation – satisfied employees
The response among staff has been positive and participation has been high, around 85 percent. The company carried out a second health screening in autumn 2020 and has another one planned for the coming autumn.

– We will continue to work on our health, and through the upcoming health screening we will see whether the results show improvements. Through OneLab we also have the opportunity to extend the health check for our partners, which is an important factor, says Caroline Falconer.

Baker McKenzie has previously used other health screenings but has not quite received the feedback they wanted from providers. Instead of getting follow-up all the way through, it has usually stopped after they received the results. But with OneLab's services they have instead been able to get an overview of employee wellbeing at both individual and company level with the opportunity for follow-up — an important step in the company's work to always put employee wellbeing first.
